Palladium Sterling

Palladium Sterling is a 92.5% sterling silver alloy which contains 3.0% palladium to give your jewelry that little extra edge. It has been formulated to perform to the highest standards for all jewelry applications and can be cast, formed and fabricated just like traditional sterling silver. Palladium enhances the luster of your sterling silver jewelry and gives your pieces added value. Palladium sterling has been formulated for optimum tarnish resistance. Palladium Sterling compliments Hoover & Strong’s new Karatium Sterling alloy – KTS – for jewelers who want to work in sterling silver but who want the extra prestige these alloys give to their creations. Palladium Sterling can be hallmarked as sterling.

Karatium White

Karatium alloys are a new family of alloys containing a percentage of gold and have been formulated in response to industry demand for less expensive metals. They are available in Yellow which contains 20% gold, Pink and White options which contain 10% gold as well as a sterling silver alloy which contains 2.5% gold. Although Karatium alloys polish to a high luster much like traditional karat gold alloys, they can be priced considerably less than 10kt gold and are an attractive alternative to gold filled products since they are a true "Alloy" and not a clad product with a base metal layer making up the majority of your jewelry. Karatium alloys also have the advantage over gold filled that the gold layer will never wear off. Karatium alloys are formulated to work well for all jewelry applications and can be cast, formed and fabricated just like karat gold alloys. All Karatium products have been formulated for optimum tarnish resistance.

14K Brilliant White

The greatest complaint with white gold jewelry is that "the ring is turning yellow". Jewelers know this is not the case and in fact the rhodium plating is wearing off, exposing the poor color of the white gold alloy underneath. Hoover & Strong Brilliant White casting grains are a development from customer requests for "whiter" gold alloys and are rated grade 1 on the MJSA White Gold Index, so your finished castings will have a color that will not need Rhodium plating. If you do choose to rhodium plate, with Hoover and Strong’s Brilliant White gold alloys any wear on the plating is virtually unnoticeable. Brilliant White gold alloys still retain excellent casting characteristics.

950 Hard Platinum

Hoover & Strong’s new platinum alloy was developed as a direct response to customers looking for a harder platinum alloy. The result is PTH, harder than the traditional 950 alloys without the need for heat treatment. For improved casting, PTH offers a wider temperature range between liquid and solid states enabling a better cavity fill. PTH has an annealed hardness of 180HV, 33% harder than 950 platinum-ruthenium and 64% harder than 900 platinum-iridium. This alloy improves rigidity and wear over traditional alloys, and is ideal for customers who want a stiffer alloy for prongs, pave applications and clasps, or for those who want their alloy to have increased resistance to deformation and impact. PTH has a high initial work hardening rate so that stones are easily set, but once the prong is bent into position, it stays there. PTH is ideal for all platinum jewelry manufacturing applications, whether investment casting or general fabrication, and retains the excellent white color and luster associated with 950 quality platinum alloys.

Tru-Bronze

Tru-Bronze is a non-precious alloy that was developed to make models, sample line jewelry or finished costume jewelry. Tru-Bronze has the look of 14K yellow gold which will show your jewelry well without the cost of karat gold. This casting alloy can resist tarnishing for long periods of time in sample cases but may tarnish when worn against the skin. Tru-Bronze does not need to be gold plated and can be directly rhodium plated without the need for pre-nickel plating.
