Guarantee Your Piece and Use Our Mold Making Service

You spend a lot of time caring for your customers, designing and modeling; let us do the casting for you and save your energy and talent for what you love to do.

We will select the mold material that best suits your piece. Generally, there is 1% to 7% shrinkage from master to finished piece. Please account for shrinkage. Shrinkage has been calculated from in-house tests and manufacturer specifications and could be different depending on model shape. (Example: Marquise shrinks differently than squares and Outside dimension shrinks differently than inside dimensions.) Please call or e-mail with any shrinkage concerns or further explanation.

The mold materials that we use are listed below along with their associated properties. The casting and mold department will make individual decisions on type of mold needed based on model sent. Because of the complexity of some molds or the quality of the model we will only guarantee you get enough waxes to fill your order. We will not guarantee "no-seam" lines or that the wax will fill properly. Refer to the model section of our casting tips article.

Tips to Follow When Sending Your Model

• Look for: air bubbles near the surface, heavy file marks, flashing, incomplete prongs, bearings or bezels, dirt or metal filings on wax, small gaps and/or cracks in model.
• Hoover & Strong will not copy or infringe on customer's copyright and it is the customer's responsibility for maintaining ownership of the design you submit. Hoover & Strong is not liable for copyright infringements by others. Hoover & Strong will not cast designs that have trademarks other than owned by sender.
• Package wax models very carefully due to their delicate nature in a small box with bubble wrap. Then tape the small box inside a large box before mailing. We suggest that you don't use tissues to wrap the waxes. The lint sticks to the waxes and can be very hard to get off. Hoover & Strong is not responsible for damaged or lost models during shipment.
• Send models and waxes to Hoover & Strong, Attention: Contract Casting Department. Fed Ex or UPS are best; U.S. Postal Service only if it is insured and able to be tracked.
